Gear Floor Design Johan Lindsten for Northern
The Gear floor lamp designed by Johan Lindsten for Northern is an industrial floor lamp. The lamp stands on a gear and this is also the adjustment mechanism. To adjust the lamp you have to lift the lamp out of the foot and replace it in another position. The hood moves along and he will balance out by the gravity . The Gear floor lamp is made of steel and aluminum and is finished in matte black. The inside of the hood is white, for a better dispersion of light. The cord is black and the Gear floor lamp is dimmable. The hood has a diameter of 47 cm and the height is 190 to 210 cm and the width is 130 to 150 cm. There is also a small version, the Gear Table Lamp.
A LED light puts 90 percent of the energy into light and only 10 percent into heat. A conventional light bulb does exactly the opposite. A Led bulb consumes less power to produce the same light output. This is a considerable reduction in use of electricity and this is good for the environment. And LED bulbs have a longer service life than other light sources. So it’s cheaper and better for the environment to use Led light sources instead of conventional light bulbs. The light source of the Gear Floor Lamp is a 23 Watt LED light source corresponding to the light output of a 100 Watt conventional light bulb. The color of the light is 2700 K, what we experience as warm light. The LED Light source is included with the lamp.
