Fa Floor lamp Design Goula and Figuera by Gofi
The Fa Floor Lamp was designed by Goula and Figuera for the Spanish brand Gofi. The Fa floor lamp is named after the musical note and was originally designed for an exhibition at the Opera House in Barcelona to illuminate the paintings. The Fa lamp is very basic: a sturdy steel base, a thin rod, a spotlight, a magnet and an O-ring. It is available in shiny chrome and satin black, red or yellow. Fa is 125 cm high, has a dimmer on the black braided cord and is very versatile. The Fa lamp can function as a reading lamp, spotlight, mood light or even as a bedside lamp.
The light source of the Fa Floor Lamp is a dimmable LED light source of 7.5 Watt, the light output of this light source is comparable to a 60 Watt conventional light bulb. The color of the light is 2700 K, which we experience as warm white light.
Pablo Figuera and Álvaro Goula
Pablo Pablo Figuera (Madrid 1988) and Álvaro Goula are designers who studied the Elisava school for Design and Engineering in Barcelona. They are also bachelor of Arts at the University of Southamton. After working for several design studios for a number of years, they decided in 2012 to set up their own design studio. Since then, their work has been at the midpoint between conceptual and commercial design, where industrial values and creativity converge and nurture each other. When designing, Pablo and Álvaro adhered from the beginning to an undeniable principle: the obsessive care for the shape of the object, which expresses aesthetic values through its material, the respect for the manufacturing process and of course its practicality. Their designs are elegant and easy to understand.
In the summer of 2015, Álvaro Goula and Pablo Figuera founded Home Adventures, an experimental brand with which to produce bold designs that differed from their work for other companies. After the success of the Lines & Dots lighting series, they decide to expand the collection in 2018 with the ambition to meet all the needs of contemporary living. That’s how GOFI was born, a new brand that continues the path started by Home Adventures raising the bar without abandoning its original idea: “To create designs that allow us to express our aesthetic principles, enjoy our work!”.
