Upper King Ceiling Lamp No 1506 Design Jan Hoogervorst Anvia

The Upper King ceiling lamp is a balance lamp by designer Jan Hoogervorst. Also known under No 1506 it is one of the most iconic lighting products from the Dutch lighting industry. It is based on the original design from the end of the years ‘ 60 with a very fine mechanism. This unique mechanism ensures that you get the retro ceiling light can freely horizontally. In addition, you can move the lamp up and down and then tighten it with the cartel nuts. Also the lamp shade itself is in various modes. As a result, the lamp can move to countless positions what makes him very user friendly. The materials in this lamp consists of a combination of aluminium and steel. The excellent quality ensures that you will have years of enjoyment of the Upper King ceiling light. The lamp is a whopping 160 cm long, the hood has a diameter of 30 cm. The lamp is available in Matt Black or Matt White. The Upper King Ceiling light is only available in The Netherlands and Belgium.

LED

The light source of the Upper King Ceiling Lamp is an 8 Watt LED light source corresponding to the light output of a 60 Watt conventional light bulb. The color of the light is 2700 K, what we experience as  warm light. The LED Light source is included with the lamp.

Jan Hoogervorst

The mostly organic designs of Jan Hoogervorst from the early years of his designcarrière are clearly inspired and influenced by progressive Italian company’s as Arredoluce, Stilnovo and Arteluce. He is also called the Dutch crown prince of the Italian Designer Gino Sarfatti. His later designs are characterized much more by purity and functionality, with a great sense of proportion but also calvinist. By many is Jan Hoogervorst now seen as one of the best Dutch mid-century designers. With no background in a design study, but a passionate and skilled craftsman.

Anvia

ANVIA Almelo is a well known Dutch Design lighting Brand. Founded in 1933 they designed many dutch design icons. In 2014 the company was taken over by a new owner who re-released the classics  from the fifties and sixties with modern technology. Anvia has a great collection based on the designs by Jan Hoogervorst. Anvia Lamps are custom manufactured, the delivery time is about 14 days.
