Sideboard 142 Design Bernh. Pedersen & Son

Sideboard 142 Design Bernh. Pedersen & Son is derived from a sideboard by Johannes Andersen designed in 1965. Dresser 142 is the first of a series of sideboards Bernh. Pedersen and Son was re-released. This beautiful quality furniture is available in two sizes 165 cm or 210 cm wide. In the middle section you can choose to have drawers or shelves. These drawers with dovetail connection are available in two heights, 5 cm or 11.5 cm high. The doors are produced perfectly sliding doors where the wood grain is mirrored on the both doors that seamlessly the back in roles. A very rare craftsmanship you do not see much anymore, it is not only pleasent to the eye, but also very functional because the doors don’t take up any space. The height of the sideboards is 80 cm and the depth is 50 cm. We are proud to offer this beautiful product exclusively in Netherlands.

Production

Every Sideboard is made in Denmark by hand and using modern technology. they are individually numbered upon final assembling. The delivery time of this Sideboard is 8 weeks. The curved edges on the front are solid wood, as well as the sliding doors, the frame and the legs. The rear legs are set a few cm to te inside, this makes it possible to place the dresser tight against the wall without the plinth being in the way. The back of the sideboard is neat veneered, this makes it possible to use the Sideboard 142 as a room devider, free standing in a room.

Wood types and finishes

The Sideboard 142 is available in five types of wood: oak, walnut, teak, rosewood or smoked oak. The final treatment is oil, treated with soap or lacquered. Bernh. Pedersen & Søn, a Danish furniture maker, has a long and strong tradition in furniture and cabinetmaking stretching all the way back to the company’s start in 1902. Through three generations the family firm has created and sold classic Danish furniture to many parts of the world. The period 1950 – 1970 in particular was characterized by some of the most stunning and well-executed pieces in Bernh. Pedersen & Søn’s history. Especially the classic mid-century sideboards and daybeds designed by Danish furniture designers, including the Danish world-renowned Johannes Andersen, Svend Aage Madsen and Kurt Østervig were – and still are – highly valued by customers worldwide. In 2015, fourth generation in the family, Thomas Bernhard Pedersen re-established the company and started focusing exclusively on re-launching some of the exquisite sideboards designed in the 50’s and 60’s.
